What will I see on Routes to Art? Routes to Art showcases 45 artists and artisans working in a wide range of media including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture, fiber arts, woodcarving, ceramics, beading, pottery, and more. During Routes to Art weekend, the artists are available to answer questions and demonstrate how they create their work. Visitor will meet the artists in person, see live demonstrations of their craft, and have a chance to purchase works directly from the people that create them! You may enter a studio and find a watercolor artist demonstrating a technique, watch a woodworker turning a bowl, or see a ceramic artist working with clay. This is a chance to see more of an artist’s work than you would at a typical venue.
What do I need to do to attend Routes to Art?
Unlike most art tours, Routes to Art is free! Visitors plan their own agenda, tour the area, and visit the artists' viewing locations during the prescribed hours of the show, 10am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, 2012. Participating artists will be present at their locations all days of the event.
All you need is the 2012 RTA brochure (available in April) which includes a list of participating artists, examples of their work, and maps to the locations of artists’ studios, galleries, and other viewing locations.
