Artist Statement: My paintings evolve from observation, photographs, and the intuition that I’ve developed in my years as an artist. I begin each painting with a loose pencil drawing, and build up the colors and value using multiple layers of washes. This gives the watercolors luminosity and richness. My paintings are realistic, yet moody and intense.
