Artist Statement: Samantha Jacobs grew up on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in the area known as Pinewoods. She attributes her initial interest in beadwork to her mother. Samantha works with corn husk, seed and glass beads to create items that are both visually expressive yet functional. Her designs are taken from nature-flowers, solar elements and native symbolism.
